Alexandra

Alexandra

Visit historic Alexandra in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. The town was established as a result of the discovery of gold in the area in 1866.

Explore the timber heritage of the area at the Alexandra Timber Tramway & Museum which operates a steam train monthly in conjunction with a local produce & craft market.

Alexandra is home to the annual Truck, Ute & Rod Show over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in June. You can also enjoy picnic racing at the Alexandra Racing Club or fast-paced action at the speedway.

Dotted around the township are Boutique B&Bs and Cottage Retreats, perfect for a relaxing escape. Activities range from adventure to relaxation - natural healing, day spa and massage therapy treatments.
