Are you game for a wild lunch? - 3 Mar 2012
When: Saturday 3 March 2012
Where: Killeen Barn, Longwood
Time: .
Plunkett Fowles will be hosting ‘Are you game for a wild lunch?’ as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
Launched in 2008 and winner of the VISY Great Australian Shiraz Challenge in 2010, Plunkett Fowles Ladies who Shoot their Lunch wines are the world’s first to be blended specifically to match wild game meat. Are you game for a wild lunch? event will showcase these wines alongside game and premium local produce from the Strathbogie Ranges.
With a dress theme of ‘a touch of tweed’, guests will be whisked from Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station in the historic Art Deco Spirit of Progress train to the heart of the Strathbogie Ranges. En route they’ll be entertained and may have to solve various mysteries before reaching Seymour!
Taking in the beauty of rural Victoria, guests will be driven by bus from Seymour to the Fowles family’s heritage listed Killeen Barn in Longwood and greeted on arrival with canapés and limited edition Ladies who Shoot their Lunch sparkling.
With live music, game preparation and cooking demonstrations and prizes for the ‘best tweed attire’ our guests will have worked up an appetite for the main event.
Sitting down to what has been dubbed the ‘longest game lunch in Australia’, guests will enjoy a delicious menu of locally sourced produce including rabbit, local trout, venison and quail matched with our Ladies who Shoot their Lunch wines that have been specifically crafted to complement game.
Auctioner Supremo David Fowles will be wielding the hammer with exclusive Ladies who Shoot their Lunch posters and wine up for grabs and all proceeds going charity.
In what promises to be one of the most exciting events of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, Plunkett Fowles CEO Matt Fowles hopes guests are game for a day of fun, frivolity and fantastic local produce and wine from the heart of Victoria.
