Greater Shepparton’s rich cultural heritage comes alive with this colourful new music and arts festival presenting amazing indigenous, multicultural and new refugee artists who have recently settled in Australia.

A massive cultural celebration in and around Shepparton's Eastbank Centre from Friday 20 - Sunday 22 April, Emerge on the Goulburn Festival will amaze audiences with unique cultural experiences encompassing music, dance, storytelling, visual arts, film, exotic foods, ancient and crafts and ceremonies happening all weekend.

Emerge is very much a family-friendly event with attractions and activities for all age groups.

Come for the whole event...or for an hour or two!

Main Stage (Auditorium)
Enjoy spectacular music and dance perfomances and explore the auditorium's vibrant cultural marketplace with all kinds of stalls including information and arts and crafts made by local communities including Indian henna painting, Congolese art works and sculpture, West African baskets and crafts, Iraqi photographic display, African hair braiding, embroidery and beading and much more to be announced! Featuring: Welcome to Country by Uncle Colin Walker, Dhungalla Dancers (Yorta Yorta), Burundian Drummers (Burundi), Otohu Community Dance Group (Sudan), Traditional Congolese Dance Group, Afghan Boy's Dance Group, Angels Voices Band (Congolese) and Shellie Morris (indigenous singer/songwriter NT).

Cultural Dance Workshops (Auditorium)
Dance a mile in someone else's shoes and learn moves from all corners of the globe. Free workshops for anyone to join in! Featuring: Italian Dance, Philipino Dance, Yorta Yorta Dance, Congolese Dance and Albanian Dance!

Stage (Function Room 2)
A dynamic showcase of local pop, soul and hip hop with many diverse young and emerging Shepparton talents. Featuring: Shepparton High School Samoan Singing Group, Burundian Drumming Workshop, FlyBz (Burundian Hip hop duo), Young Ugees (Congolese Hip Hop music and dance crew), Monga Mukasa (Congolese singer songwriter), Natassja Mawson (indigenous singer songwriter) and more to be announced!

Outdoor World Music and Food Lounge (Courtyard)
Immerse yourself in songs and voices from around the globe in the outdoor café while you feast on tasty authentic foods cooked by local communities. Featuring: Italian Choir, Lutheran Church Gospel Choir (Congolese/ Burundian), Team Oz Padamara (Indonesian Choir) and more!

Children’s Activities (Eastbank Foyer)
Will include indigenous and multicultural children’s arts and crafts, outdoor games and activities and Ranger Roo (Parks Victoria), Multicultural Rhyme Time and Puppet Show (Cutting Edge), face painting, storytelling and more!
