Tribute to the Past
PUCKAPUNYAL - SEYMOUR - STRATH CREEK
The Australian Army Tank Museum, Puckapunyal is one of the largest armour museums in the southern hemisphere! Over 87 tanks and armoured fighting vehicles plus anti armoured weapons make up this collection of Australian military history - the finest in the world.
The Vietnam Veterans' Commemorative Walk, Seymour commemorates the contribution Australians made in the Vietnam War and is the first memorial of its type honouring all 62,100 personnel who served in the conflict. The partially completed walk is a meandering red-earth path with interpretive boards to educate visitors on the role Australia played in the Vietnam conflict.
If you're cricket-mad then you must visit Hume and Hovell Cricket Ground, Strath Creek, an award-winning English-style cricket ground that has hosted international, interstate and corporate social matches. The Pavilion houses the finest collection of memorabillia outside the MCG, and the stunning rose gardens will delight!
A day of history
SHEPPARTON - MOOROOPNA - TATURA
The Shepparton Heritage Centre is located in old Shepparton on the banks of the Goulburn River. Comprising a heritage cottage, four-gallery museum and an archive, the centre is open on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, from 1pm to 4pm.
One of the finest collections of medical historical significance within regional Victoria from circa 1875 to the present day is showcased at the Historical Society of Mooroopna. Also featured is the history of local rural industries, heirloom clothing, family and military histories. Open Sundays from 1pm to 4:30pm or by appointment.
Tatura Irrigation and Wartime Camps Museum houses a unique collection featuring the Goulburn Valley's irrigation history, the local and family history of Tatura and district since white settlement, and the history of PoW and internment camps in the area during World War II. Open 1pm to 3pm weekdays, 2pm to 4pm weekends & public hoildays.
Trains and tramways tour
SEYMOUR - KERRISDALE - ALEXANDRA
Transport yourself back in time and experience the magic and charm of the old-timer locomotives and the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre, home to a collection of historic Victorian Railway locomotives that have been restored to operating condition. Heritage train excursions are regularly conducted to locations around Victoria and you can also enjoy conducted depot tours.
Kerrisdale Mountain Railway is a unique railway built to two-foot (610mm) guage on a zigzag formation, with views to take your breath away! Check out the Steam Museum and grab a bite to eat at the kiosk. Accommodation is available at the Kerrisdale Railway Cottage B&B.
Alexandra Timber Tramway is a tourist railway and logging museum that features local timber history from the Rubicon Forest, historical displays, restored locomotives and memorabilia. Kids and adults alike will love riding the trains and exploring the display rooms and outdoor exhibits. (make a note to call ahead for opening times or to make an appointment)

- Be sure to walk Euroa's Heritage Trail. You will visit the significant buildings and places that showcase the township's fascinating history.
- Check out the historic buildings dotted all around the region, many circa late 1800s.
