Long: Situated 100km north of Melbourne on the Puckapunyal Military Base, is one of the largest armour museums in the Southern hemisphere!
Over 87 tanks and armoured fighting vehicles plus anti armoured weapons make up this collection of Australian military history – the finest in the world.
Marvel at the Australian Light Horse collection, small arms and anti tank weapons, Australian armour from WWII and Vietnam, plus the weapons against armour lethality display.
Wheel chair access is available and there is a gift shop with models, military equipment and souvenirs.
There is also a BBQ area available if you would like to take your own lunch and make a real day of it.
Opening Hours: Tuesday to Friday 10am - 5pm and on the last weekend of each month from 10am to 4pm.
Special Opening Hours: On Victorian Long Weekends (all 3 days) and Easter Saturday, Sunday & Monday, open from 10am – 4pm.
Victorian School Holidays: From the first Sunday, open daily from 10am – 4pm.
Closed: Good Friday, Anzac Day and Melbourne Cup Day. The museum is also closed from August 2 to 18 for maintenance and from 17 Dec to 08 Jan, 2012.
