The equine industry is a huge focus for the Goulburn River Valley region, especially as it enjoys significant areas of lush quality farmland and a temperate climate. It has an impressive range of all equine pursuits and is home to the majority of Victoria’s commercial thoroughbred, broodmare and yearling farms. Harness Racing contributes significantly to the region with many high quality farms calling the area home.

The region also boasts high quality equine facilities to rival those around the world, namely The Equine Centre in The Hidden Valley, with professionals including trainer and centre manager Maree Tomkinson, International Dressage Rider.

Other equine pursuits include pony club, eventing and carriage driving.
